In The Spirit of Leviticus...

"The people of this country are becoming much more politicised on the land question, and therefore the land must come back to the rightful owners in the spirit of Leviticus, Chapter 25." - Peter Moatshe - Senior ANC member of the National Council of Provinces Link.

Ah yes, Leviticus 25, the ancient Jewish law regarding property...

"If a fellow-Israelite living near you becomes so poor that he sells himself to you as a slave, you shall not make him do the work of a slave. He shall stay with you as a hired servant and serve you until the next Year of Restoration ." - Leviticus 25: 39-40

That sounds like the ANC's labour policy to me.

"If you need slaves, you may buy them from the nations around you." - Leviticus 25: 44

I *keep* saying that illegal immigration is a *good* thing...

"You may also buy the children of foreigners who are living among you. Such children born in your land may become your property, and you may leave them as inheritance to your sons, whom they must serve as long as they live. But you must not treat any of your fellow-Israelites harshly." - Leviticus 25: 45-46

I don't know how Marxist it is, but I'm not complaining...

I assume that the ANC is consistent in that it supports *all* of Leviticus as a moral and political guide for the party and the government it leads...

"You may eat any kind of fish that has fins and scales, but anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales must not be eaten." - Leviticus 11: 9-10

Prawns and lobsters are bourgeois anyway... This is why it's *really* illegal to smuggle perlemoen.

"No man is to have sexual relations with another man; god hates that." - Leviticus 18: 22

He only hates it because Satan isn't good in bed - horns, you know. And tail. And pitchfork.

Yeah. Satan scared God straight.

"If a man commits adultery with the wife of a fellow Israelite , both he and the woman shall be put to death." - Leviticus 20: 10

They must have changed this to, "Make the man president and put the woman to death," while I wasn't looking...

The moral of the story is that you SHOULDN'T QUOTE THE FRIKKEN BIBLE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT! IT'S NOT A FRIKKEN GAME OF 'CONFUCIUS SAY'!

Sorry, but wannabe theocrats just beg to made fun of.
